Messiah Texas Leadership

Ty Porter is the Board President for Messiah Texas. Ty is one of the three founders of Messiah Texas. He has been with us since day one in September of 2015. Ty is one of the elders for Hub City Hebrews Fellowship in Lubbock, Texas. Ty has been married to his wife, Randi K, since 2004. They have 5 children: Christopher, Garron, Kaiyah, Talia, and Bayla.   Ty is a roofing contractor and part owner of Andrus Bros Roofing. Ty’s hobbies are woodworking, hunting, golf, and doing projects around the house with his 5 children. Ty’s life verse is: 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.”

Missi Lara is the newest Board Member for Messiah Texas. Missi's kids have been a part of Messiah Texas since the second event; and now she is a part of our family too! Missi has been married to her husband, Jim, since 1987. She has 7 biological children: Justin, Jessikah, Francesca, Hannah, Lucas, Elijah and Arianah, and an ever-changing number of bonus children. Missi and her family live in Canton, Texas. She loves opening her home and giving people a safe space while hanging out with family and friends. Her hobbies are scrapbooking, genealogy, sewing, crocheting, and collecting kids. Missi's life verse is: 3 John 1:4 "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth."

Brandon Darby is a Board Member and one of the three founders of Messiah Texas. He has been with us since day one in September of 2015. Brandon is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. Brandon has been married to his wife, Jessica, for 5 years. He has 2 children: Emmett Flynn, Samuel Brian. Brandon and his family live in Lubbock, Texas. Brandon’s hobbies are playing board games, video games, sports, escape rooms, and defying societal norms. Brandon’s life verse is: 1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."

Shanteyl Leeson is a Board Member for Messiah Texas. Shanteyl is currently serving in full-time ministry as a youth pastor, part-time missionary, and developer of youth missions opportunities. Shanteyl is passionately serving her King until God sends her someone to serve beside. She is the daughter of Harley and Barbara Leeson. She resides in New Mexico when she is not serving elsewhere in ministry.  Shanteyl’s hobbies are volunteering, art, hiking, family time, and music. Shanteyl’s life verse is: Jeremiah 20:9 “If I say, "I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name," there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot.”

Brandi Moore is one of our Board Members for Messiah Texas. Brandi has been married to her husband, Garrett since 2005. She has 7 children: Sean, Elijah, Audrey, Zachariah, Jonathan, Nathaniel, and Liam. Brandi and her family live in Quitman, Texas. Brandi’s hobbies are event coordinating, throwing parties, and growing humans. Brandi’s life verse is: Romans 12:9-10 "Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor."

Kim Serrano, better known as Momma Duck to campers, has been part of Messiah Texas since the first camp. Kim has been married to Brian since 2001. They have 3 children: Oakley, Cameron, and Nathan. Kim has been involved in ministries such as VBS, AWANA, weekly children's ministries, youth group, camps, young adults, and beyond since the age of 14; when she received Christ. She currently resides in Bullard, Texas where she works as a house parent at Brook Hill School. Kim enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, and playing games. She also enjoys photography. One of Kim's favorite passages is: Psalm 37:3-5. "Trust in the Lord and do good;

dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this."

Garrett Moore first came to Messiah Texas in January of 2021 and has fast become a permanent fixture. His spiritual insight and powerful prayer and counsel make him an excellent addition to our Advisory Council. When he is not at Messiah Texas events, Garrett is a paintless dent repair technician, which means he fixes vehicles that have minor dents or hail damage. Garrett has been married to his wife, Brandi, since 2005. He has 7 children: Sean, Elijah, Audrey, Zachariah, Jonathan, Nathaniel, and Liam. Garrett and his family live in Quitman, Texas. His hobbies include operating tractors and heavy equipment. His life verse is: Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Randi K Porter is an Advisory Council Member for Messiah Texas. She is married to a founding member and has supported her husband in youth camp ministries since 2010. Randi K is a stay-at-homeschooling mom to her and Ty's five children. She and Ty have been married since 2004 and live just outside of Lubbock, Texas where they enjoy the "country life" on their small farm. She is also very active in her kid's American Heritage Girls and Trail Life scouting troops. Randi K's hobbies include art, dance, and gardening. She will jump at any chance to use those things to praise the Father and/or teach others about them. Randi K's life verse is: Deuteronomy 6:6-7 "And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."

Jim Lara is an Advisory Council Member for Messiah Texas. His children have been part of

Messiah Texas since the second event. Jim is an electrical contractor. He has been married to

his wife, Missi, since 1987. They have 7 biological children: Justin, Jessikah, Francesca,

Hannah, Lucas, Elijah, and Arianah, and an ever-changing number of bonus children. Jim and his family have hosted home fellowships for decades. They live in Canton, Texas. Jim’s life verse is Revelation 21:3-4 “And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Brandon Byrd, leader of We the Remnant, became an Advisory Council Member in May of 2022. After serving with Messiah Texas for two years, Byrd and his ministry have become powerhouse partners with us. We are so grateful to have him on our council. Brandon has been married to his wife, Cait, since 2015. He has 2 boys, Braven and Beauden. Brandon and his family live in Burnett, Texas. His hobbies include golf, hunting, watching sports, music, time with family, and seeing miracles. His life verse is: Colossians 1:15-18 "The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy."

Cory Stalsworth is the Treasurer for Messiah Texas. Cory was in California at Messiah West Coast with Ty, Brandon, and Brian when Messiah Texas was officially birthed. He was at the original Messiah Texas and has been at the majority of our events since. 

Cory is the son of Michael and Delilah Stalsworth. Cory resides in the Oklahoma City area where he enjoys hanging out and talking with friends, playing with his dogs, and playing video games. His life verse is: Isaiah 40:8 "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”
